Today we start back south. The northern most point reached was 68°22' and now the trip is back to the south. Quickly heading south we come back to the Mackenzie River and its ferry.

| We feel like we are unrolling our trip. However on the ride back the weather is much warmer. The mountains which were hidden by snow and fog on the way north are now resplendent mixing black rock and tundra green. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The mountains in this area are quite different from those further south. We are traveling through ancient Beringia, that portion of the north that wasn't covered in ice during the last great ice age.
