| After stocking up on supplies in Dawson, we backtrack down the Klondike to the junction with the Dempster. This highway and the town at its northern end was the impetus for the entire trip. We were elated to finally begin this portion of the journey.
The stormy weather we saw yesterday in Minto has caught up with us. It seems that many of the storms in this portion of the Yukon arise from the southwest in the Gulf of Alaska. It's ironic to me that many of the strong storms that we experience during the California winter arise from the northwest in the Gulf of Alaska.
The day continues to cool as we progress north. We stop at the Tombstone campground, another in a series of excellent Yukon Territorial campgrounds.
