The day starts overcast and cool. The Campbell Highway generally heads north following the Frances River valley and then passes Frances Lake.

| The highway slowly turns west as one approaches Finlayson Lake and the continental divide which at this point is a divide between the Arctic Ocean and the Bering Sea |

As the day progresses, the overcast breaks up into alternate sunny and showery areas. The wilderness here is quite beautiful.

| Very few other vehicles are seen. This is no place to have a breakdown, as it will be a good hike before coming back to civilization. Today's destination is Faro. |
