Simpson Lake Campground

Yukon Territory

On June 1, 2003, our journey began in Ben Lomond a small town in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California. The goal of the trip was to travel to Inuvik a small town in the Mackenzie River Valley of the Northwest Territories and to view the midnight sun on the day of the summer solstice. For the intervening miles three principles reigned.
  • it's not the destination that matters so much, rather it's the journey
  • travel the road less traveled
  • the only schedule is the day you must be back

With these guiding principles the journey began.
